From a bustling neighborhood, to a beautiful skyline. Hong Kong offers a wide range of places for everyone - various shopping malls for the shop-til-you-drop, Hong Kong Disneyland for the kids at heart, numerous street food, endless street markets, and the like are just some of the things that this country offers.
Our recent trip to Hong Kong was actually right off the bat! I was supposed to be traveling with a family friend, but sadly, it didn't pushed through. Good thing, my best friend's birthday was fast approaching, which paved way for her being allowed. Until now, everything still feels surreal since I get to travel with my bestie and her sister.
We arrived at Hong Kong International Airport at around 7 in the morning and made our way to the hotel to take some rest, since we've been up the whole night. Afterwards, we then had our lunch at Cafe de Corale, and ordered two different dishes that is good for sharing. The three of us, are not familiar on the transportation scheme in HK, so we went back to the hotel and asked for directions. Our first stop was at Langham Place- which is connected to MTR's Mong Kok station.
After a day of walking around Mong Kok, we then headed to Tsim Sha Tsui, to try the authentic egg waffles and take lots of photos at the neon lights in the city. It was already 7 in the evening, but the sun's still out in Hong Kong, which leads me to the belief of summer solstice. We were on the look for finding an affordable restaurant around the area, and ended up eating at a Japanese-Chinese inspired small restaurant. The food was okay, but the serving will not fill up an empty stomach.
We had a city tour on our second day in HK. Went to different places including Garden of Stars, View of the HK skyline, famous jewelry shop, hidden pasalubong place, and at Aberdeen Fishing Village. Kind of regretted joining the tour, since we really didn't enjoy it that much, but the good thing was, it only lasted half of the day.
After the tour, we headed to Times Square in Causeway Bay to roam around the city for awhile. We didn't do much since we were going to Disneyland the following day. Gotta save all the energy!! The three of us just ate at Toast Box for our late lunch, and had convenience store food for dinner, since we already had a takeout!

I believe each Disneyland differ from each other and specializes on something that will leave a mark on theme park-goers. As for Hong Kong's Disneyland, what I loved most was the firework display after the electronic light show parade. In my opinion, the fireworks were a significant reminder that, at the end of the day, no matter how stressful or bad your day was, there will always be something, that will eventually light up your world again.
I am a fan of Korean skin care products and gladly, the world was on our side, Tony Moly and Innis Free were on sale at Maritime Square. It definitely made our last day in HK, the best.
To sum it all up, I surely enjoyed our 4-day trip to Hong Kong and I cannot wait to be back and see Hong Kong's other cities. Watch out for our vlog about our HK Trip on my YouTube channel soon.
